Macaronis Resort Trip Durations are 8 days / 9 nights OR 15 days / 16 nights (including 2 nights ferry traveling to / from the Mentawai Islands).

Ambu Ambu Ferry departs Padang to Sikakap at 5:00pm on Tuesdays arriving Wednesday mornings and then departs again on Wednesdays at 5:00pm arriving back in Padang on Thursdays between 6:00am and 7:30am. Flight departures out from Padang on Thursdays must not be before 10:00am.

Upon arrival of Ambu Ambu Ferry to Sikakap in the Mentawais at 7:30am on Wednesday mornings, guests enjoy breakfast aboard Indies Explorer while being transferred to Macaronis Resort arriving mid morning, also doing some fishing along the way. Upon arrival to Macaronis Resort you will be free to check into your villa, have some lunch and go surfing.

Departing guests board Indies Explorer at midday Wednesday heading around to Sikakap to connect with Ambu Ambu Ferry departing to Padang at 5:00pm then arriving back in Padang between 6:00am and 7:30am Thursday mornings, before guests are transferred to Padang Airport to catch outgoing flights booked after 10:00am.

Flight Information:

Tiger Airways is no longer flying between Padang and Singapore. Instead Air Asia now offers convenient flights between Kuala Lumpur and Padang at about the same price, although you do need to be careful with baggage allowances. You can book Air Asia online to Padang from Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth via Kuala Lumpur. Air Asia arrives in Padang at 14:25pm from KL still leaving plenty of time to get to the Ferry on Tuesdays departing at 5:00pm.

The latest domestic flight arrivals we allow for Tuesdays are with Lion Air arriving at 2:00pm. However we highly recommend that it's best to fly with Batavia Air from Jakarta arriving 12:30pm - both Lion Air and Batavia Air offer flights from Bali via Jakarta arriving in Padang the same day (Batavia leaves earlier from Bali, but still best to arrive in Padang earlier with no stress of being late!!).
