All visitors to Mentawai for tourism purposes must undergo a PCR test, which remains valid for 14 days. This is best done at your point of departure to avoid any delays or complications during travel.

If running short of time before departure, PCR test results can be emailed to you 2-3 days after testing. A rapid swab test can be done at the airport which is the pre-requisite to board a domestic flight to Padang.

PCR tests can also be done at Macaronis Resort or in Sikakap, as we have an MOU in place with Sikakap Health authorities, to ensure no delays when traveling back to Bali or overseas.

For those traveling to Jakarta, or to most other domestic Indonesian airports, you do not need a PCR test, only a rapid swab test is required to board a domestic flight that can be completed at the airport, arriving 4 hours before your departing flight at a cost of Rp.300.000.

Macaronis Resort gained certification on June 20th under the ‘New Normal’ regulations and will be re-opening from July 10th, 2020. While International borders remain closed, the Southern Mentawais will have THE most uncrowded July surfing conditions in 30 years!

For a limited time, we are offering surfers in Indonesia to enjoy our private room package at half the regular rate, just USD 142.50 per night, with full board and regular surfer package inclusions. We are taking extra precautions to encourage social distancing while providing added privacy and comfort. During this time, twin share rooms will only be available on request.

We are offering flexible trip durations of 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, or 28 Nights with a long-stay discount. We will be offering primarily an Indonesian set menu featuring some of our local favorites, with transfers available ‘dawn to dusk’ to the nearby surf breaks. The regular services, facilities, and activities will all be available on a flexible schedule as things get back to normal.

For those already booked who would like to join us during our Re-opening period, you’ll be upgraded to a private deluxe suite room, and for those already booked in a private room, you’ll be given an additional two nights complimentary stay!
